Healing is possible.

Let’s talk

Hi, I’m Sovi

Navigating personal and professional challenges has shaped my understanding of mental health and the importance of support. At New Horizons, I am dedicated to creating a space where you can explore feelings, develop coping strategies, and work towards personal growth.

Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or life transitions, I am here to help you find your path forward. My approach is grounded in empathy and evidence-based practices, tailored to meet the unique needs of each person. Together, we can work towards fostering resilience and improving your overall quality of life. I welcome you to begin this journey towards healing and wellness with me.

Education:

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of California, Fresno, and a Masters Degree in School Psychology. The pandemic sent me back to school in order to gain even more skills to help people across the lifespan… I have earned a second Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Alaska Pacific University. I am currently pursuing my doctorate degree from Alaska Pacific as well. I am currently under supervision until I am fully licensed in the State of Alaska.

Experience:

I have over 14 years of experience as a school psychologist, working with children and families facing disabilities. I have helped families understand how disabilities can affect education and behavior.

During my counseling practicum I completed over 1,000 hours of practical training, with face to face clinical experience. I have sat with individuals working towards maintaining sobriety, others with depression, anxiety, various types of addictions, and still others with severe mental illness. My recent work experience includes serving children, teens, young adults, and couples at a local agency. I especially enjoy supporting parents.
